David Benavidez is rapidly emerging as one of the biggest stars in boxing, and Jake Paul has also garnered significant attention, despite the stark differences in their respective boxing careers.
Paul, a former YouTuber, has transitioned into boxing, strategically selecting opponents, mostly retired MMA fighters. His sole fight against a recognized boxer, Tommy Fury, resulted in a points loss. Recently, he faced legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, capitalizing on Tyson’s age and securing a controversial victory.
David Benavidez challenges Jake Paul: Who will win?
Benavidez, a two-time super middleweight champion, has now moved up to light heavyweight. His impressive debut at the new weight class saw him defeat Oleksandr Gvozdyk and claim an interim title. He is now eyeing a potential fight against the winner of the rematch between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.
When asked about a potential fight with Paul, Benavidez expressed immediate interest: “Oh yeah, 100%, that’s what I’m saying; I’m here to fight anybody; I don’t give a f**k.”
Benavidez: From super middleweight champion to challenger of all opponents
While Benavidez has praised Paul’s marketing skills and ability to attract new fans to the sport, he remains focused on his own career and the challenges that lie ahead.
Paul has been linked to several high-profile fights, including a rematch with Tommy Fury. For Benavidez, his next challenge is a February 2025 bout against David Morrell.

Most recently, he took on the legendary former heavyweight champion of the world, Mike Tyson. In the controversial bout in Texas, Paul came out on top after Tyson looked every one of his 58 years, and the younger man was able to pick off his shots at will.

Paul is best known for being a former YouTuber who has transitioned to the fight game over the last few years. He has picked his opponents wisely, mostly opting for ageing mixed martial artists, and the one time he fought a recognised fighter in Tommy Fury, he lost on points.
Benavidez is a two-time super middleweight champion who has now moved up to light heavyweight. His first fight at the weight saw him beat Oleksandr Gvozdyk and pick up an interim title. There is now a strong chance he could fight the winner of the rematch between Vladimir Bivol and undisputed ruler Artur Beterbiev next year.
Ahead of that speaking with Cigar Talk, he was asked if he would entertain a fight with Paul and didn’t hesitate in his response.
“Oh yeah, 100%, that’s what I’m saying, I’m here to fight anybody, I don’t give a f**k.”
Elsewhere, Benavidez has praised his ‘friend’ Paul for his marketing ability and bringing fresh eyes to the sport.
