Historic NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium Sells Out—What’s in Store for Fans?

NASCAR has officially announced that The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium has sold out, generating tremendous excitement for the upcoming event. Set for February 2, 2024, this exhibition race marks the first time Cup Series teams will compete at the historic venue since 1971.

The Clash at Bowman Gray is shaping up to be a major highlight for motorsports fans, as NASCAR brings its premier series to one of the sport’s most iconic short tracks. Known for its tight corners and passionate fanbase, Bowman Gray Stadium is expected to offer thrilling racing, showcasing the talents of NASCAR’s top drivers. This event represents a significant milestone, as it’s the first Cup Series race at the stadium in over five decades.

In addition to the main event, the Weekly Modified Division will participate in an exhibition called the Madhouse Classic, which will take place over the same weekend. The Madhouse Classic will feature a 125-lap feature race, along with practice sessions and single-car qualifying on Saturday. The race will be invite-only, with competitors selected from the top 20 standings in the 2024 Bowman Gray Stadium Modified points.

The Madhouse Classic will also include a fan-centric twist: the Fan’s Challenge. The four fastest drivers from qualifying will have the option to start at the back of the field rather than their qualifying positions. If any of these drivers can race their way back into the top four, they’ll earn a bonus, adding an exciting layer of drama to the race.

Justin Swilling, NASCAR’s project lead for The Clash, shared his excitement about the event, saying, “The sell-out of The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium speaks volumes about the monumental nature of the event at this historic venue. We’re honored to bring such an incredible race weekend to Winston-Salem, offering an opportunity to place the stars of Bowman Gray Stadium’s Modified Division in the national spotlight.”

Although the main event is sold out, fans can still purchase tickets for Saturday’s activities, which will feature the thrilling Modified races and behind-the-scenes action. NASCAR’s return to Bowman Gray Stadium promises to deliver an unforgettable weekend for both drivers and fans alike.
