Conor McGregor Regrets Infidelity, Vows to Appeal Sexual Assault Ruling

McGregor’s Final Statement

Conor McGregor has issued what he calls his final statement regarding the recent civil trial in which he was found liable for sexual assault. The case stems from allegations made in 2018 involving a woman named Nikita Hand at a hotel in Dublin, Ireland. After an 11-day trial, the jury ruled in favor of Hand, ordering McGregor to pay a total of €248,603.60 (approximately $258,440) in damages.

Regret Over Infidelity

In his latest statement, McGregor admitted to infidelity. He wrote: “Six years ago, I should never have responded to her advances. I should never have walked away from the woman I love most in this world.” McGregor, 36, has been in a long-term relationship with his fiancée Dee Devlin for over a decade, and the couple shares four children. While expressing remorse for his actions, McGregor maintained that everything that happened that night was consensual.

“All witnesses present testified under oath to that,” he said. McGregor has instructed his legal team to appeal the decision. During the appeal process, he emphasized his commitment to focusing on the future and preparing for a potential return to fighting, following his last UFC appearance in 2021.

Determined to Move Forward

“I cannot go back, and I will move forward,” McGregor shared. He expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and supporters who have stood by him. His message to fans was a positive one: “Back to the gym — the fight game awaits!”

Fallout from the Trial

Since being found liable in the civil trial, McGregor has faced significant consequences. One notable example is the video game Hitman, which severed ties with him and removed him from its marketing campaigns. This has raised concerns about McGregor’s personal brand and its future in the sports industry.

UFC’s Response to the Allegations

As of now, the UFC has yet to make any public statements regarding the allegations or the verdict against McGregor since the trial’s conclusion. This silence has left fans and sports analysts questioning McGregor’s future with the prominent fighting organization.

A Turning Point for McGregor

With the current developments, Conor McGregor is at a significant crossroads in his career. His upcoming decisions will not only shape his professional fighting trajectory but also have a profound impact on his reputation and personal brand within the sports world.
